Sadoway Labs Foundation
Pioneering Extreme Electrochemical Technologies for Industrial Decarbonization
Sadoway Labs Foundation develops electrochemical technologies that enable large-scale emissions reductions in industry. We apply extreme electrochemistry to advance the transition toward an electrified and low-carbon industrial future.
As a scientific research nonprofit, we are advancing solutions for deep decarbonization, pushing the boundaries of innovation in sustainable energy storage, transportation, and manufacturing.
Changing the World with Extreme Electrochemistry
Extreme electrochemistry (XE) is a chemical reaction powered by electricity in molten salts and liquid metals at over 1000° F.
In the 1800s, aluminum production was complex, costly, and inaccessible. The refined metal was worth its weight in gold. A radical new science, extreme electrochemistry, transformed this coveted metal of the Victorian age into an industry workhorse, ubiquitous in our modern life.
Now we’re decarbonizing the planet with extreme electrochemistry.
